Conditional type 1


This conditional type is used when a situation is real or possible, for example:

·         If it rains, I’ll stay at home.

·         If you don’t have a healthy diet, you’ll get fat.

Let’s see the structure:

If clause
Main clause
If + Present tense
will / can / may / must + verb
If it rains today,
I'll stay at home

 

Here are a few more examples:

·         If you are busy now, I’ll come back later.

·         If the weather is warm tomorrow, I’ll go to the beach.

·         If he doesn’t do his homework, he won’t go to the party.

·         If you say something rude, you must apologize.
